4 months in a really fast tempo. My whole life was dedicated to learning English almost from scratch and applying for every possible I had. So usually it probably would take a bit more. Especially if you expect to combine application process with your current education.
:
I think the process is quite basic. Main resource I would advice is an official university website: https://www.ru.nl/en
Here also the page about open days, I think they organized both off and online: https://www.ru.nl/en/about-us/events/bachelors-open-day
+ If you have any troubles (not enough info, grades, special circumstances) university is very open for conversation.
Here are the requirements: https://www.ru.nl/en/education/bachelors/computing-science/admission-and-application
I promise that all relevant info is on the website, but I also can give you some overview:
Requirements:
Ukraine
Required diploma:
- Svidotstvo pro zdobuttia povnoi zagalnoi serednoi osvity.
Subject requirements:
- Required relevant subjects are Mathematics, and either Physics or Chemistry.
Grade requirements:
- Grades for all relevant subjects must be between 10-12 (4th level/high).
OR!!
If high school did not go well you can still take additional exams to prove that you are eligible:
Boswell-Bèta: 6.0 out of 10.0
CCVX: 6.0 out of 10.0
OMPT: OMPT-D with minimum 55%
However, when I applied to the university I was already living in the Netherlands, so I do not have any information about taking those exams in Ukraine.
Obviously, you would also need to prove your language level:
TOEFL iBT
≥ 90 + subscores ≥ 20
(Please note: the TOEFL Home Edition is not accepted)
IELTS Academic
≥ 6,5 overall + subscores ≥ 6,0
Cambridge certificate (C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency)
C1 Advanced: Overall minimum score 176, minimum component score 169
C2 Proficiency: Overall minimum score 180, minimum component score 169
I will repeat again, if you have minor problems with your grades, you free to contact university with email and discuss your options. I am telling from personal experience. Be nice and do not abuse the system, however.
Application:
Step 1: Submit an enrolment application in Studielink
https://www.studielink.nl/
To apply for a Bachelor’s programme, you have to create an account and submit an enrolment application in Studielink
(the national online registration system for Dutch universities). First you will be asked to fill in your previous education, then select the programme you wish to apply for in the list that appears.
Step 2: Upload documents in OSIRIS Application
After you have submitted an enrolment application in Studielink, you will receive an email with personal login details for OSIRIS Application. You have 56 days to upload your documents and submit a complete application. If you have not submitted your application after this period, it will be automatically cancelled. Please note that if you apply close to the deadline, you will have fewer than 56 days.
You will be asked to upload the following documents:
Scan of valid passport (personal details page only) or European ID card
Diploma
Upload a signed and stamped transcript of grades for the past two years. Please also upload transcripts and diplomas from any post-secondary education that you have studied or are still studying.
Sworn translations of diploma and transcript of grades
Translations need to be made by a legally sworn translator. Certified translations are not required if your diploma and transcript are originally in Dutch, English or German. If your school provides English versions of your documents, please upload those along with versions of the documents in the original language.
Personal Statement
Your personal statement should contain, at least, a brief description of why you have chosen this specific Bachelor's programme and how it fits your previous education.
Overview of education/experience
Please upload an overview that contains, in chronological order, information about your education and knowledge/experience acquired during an internship, training, or work; for example, a resume.
Proof of English proficiency (see admission requirements)
A sufficient level of English language proficiency is required. You can apply without an English language certificate. However, if you are admitted to the programme and a language certificate is listed as a requirement in your admission email, you will be required to provide proof of proficiency before the enrolment deadline.
Step 3: Admission decision
Your request for admission will then be processed. Within approximately 3 weeks after you have submitted the digital questionnaire. Student Admissions will inform you by email about the admission decision. There are three possible outcomes:
You will be unconditionally admitted, which means that you can enrol in the study programme.
You will be conditionally admitted: your admission decision contains the conditions that you will need to fulfil before you will be able to enrol in the study programme.
You will not be admitted: your application will then be withdrawn from Studielink. You will receive further details by email about why your application was rejected.
The details of this outcome will be sent to the email address that you provided in Studielink.
From myself I would advice to apply even if you dont have all documents in your hands right now. That is what conditional admitted is here for.

A - levels, SAT, etc.)
:
NMT is not relevant here I believe.
Boswell-Bèta: 7.4
IElTS: 6.5 overall
Boswell-Bèta: 7.4

I won the regional olympiad in mathematics in 2018/2019 (I am not sure about the year though) and took bunch of small extra curriculum in programing and web design in middle school. All this I have put in my motivation letter. I have not been asked to send any proofs, therefor I believe it was not that big of a boost to my application.
About language I wrote already above. However, additional information: I took really intense course of English for misplaced Ukrainians and solved a lot of example exams. What I would advice is to prepare for the exam, not to learn English. That sounds a bit weird, however, I believe that passing exam and knowing language is two completely different things, and you probably should focus on passing exam first.
I do not think there is any scholarships. However, there is one allowance I was able to get: Groesbeek-Assenbroek
You can not get it by yourself. You would need to schedule a meeting with your student adviser and ask them about it so they help you with the process. This way you can get your payment refunded. This means that you would need to pay yourself first!

My situation was not perfect, so I started around April 2022 (applying to start in September 2022). The thing is for my specific university, program and year of applying that was enough time because in 2022 the admission deadlines for Ukrainians was extended. But I would advice to start earlier. Perfect decision would be the start of prior academic year. So the fall of the year before uni.
I do not have a particular reason why I have chosen this university. I can tell my whole story in private. However, I love my university. It is as prestigious as Harvard or something, but I have a feeling that everything here is done for people.
There is a lot of activities, nice people, and it feels like every teacher has a goal for you to successfully finish your degree. So if you need help, you will receive it, if you need more advance education, you will receive it too.
Student associations and organizations is welcoming and accommodate your ambitions and hobbies.

Bachelor is made in the way that you are expected to take 5 courses at the time. Each of them takes 8 hours a week, so like a full time job. But you are not forced to take exactly 3 years for your study. You can do it faster or slower, and retake any courses that you failed next year.
So, first year is stable, without a choice. However, with the start of the second year you need to choose your specialization: Software Engineering, Security or Data Science. You choose two of those and your second and third year of education based on your decision. The third year is ever more flexible though. In your third year you can choose a minor, which is something like an intro to any other program of your choice. Art? Yes. Law? Yes. Study at the different university? Yes. Abroad? Yes. Programs built by you? Yes, but only if the committee agrees. In addition there is also free electives, those are any courses that you want to take. You can extend your minor, or try something else, or prepare for masters.
Grading system is different for every course/class/subject. Majority is weekly homework that goes to the bonus to your final grade and one or two exams.

A bit lees then expected, so like 25-30 hours a week. Sometimes more, sometimes less
Honestly, I am a very social person, so I do not know by myself. I have close friends and they all really nice, even though we are all coming from different backgrounds. Again, if you want me to find out something for you, ask in private.
That even though I barely spoke English people still wanted to spend time with me and have fun together.
I know I lot of people, and I am not even trying. However, for some reason I did not got along with Ukrainians from the university. I know 10 Ukrainians max, so I do not think Radboud would be a good idea for someone who wants to stay in Ukrainian bobble.
Try, try everything you can. Ask for help, annoy people. You are worthy to be here, we are all worthy to want the best.
If to be serious, try to get as much info as you can and do not assume things. You need to know for sure what are the terms, deadlines, etc.
